Turning Point
Akron finally regained the lead in extras. After the Patriots intentionally walked Nolan Schubart to load the bases with two outs, Curley lined a single into right field to score Tyresse Turner and Jaison Chourio to make it 6-4 RubberDucks.
Mound Presence
Caden Favors pitched well in his birthday start. The left-hander tossed six innings allowing just three solo home runs while striking out eight. Cam Walty allowed a run in his inning of work. Carter Rustad allowed an unearned run over three innings while striking out four.
Duck Tales
Akron jumped ahead in the early innings on Saturday. Chourio tripled to lead off the game before scoring two batters later on Aaron Walton’s two-run home run. Chourio was a thorn in the Patriots side again in the second when he lined a two-run double to left to put Akron ahead 4-0.

Schlesinger Stellar, but Curve Slam Downs Ducks, 4-2
RubberDucks left-hander Rafe Schlesinger threw a career-long 6 1/3 scoreless innings in his final start of the season and Akron collected 11 hits, but Altoona first baseman Callan Moss’s two-out grand slam in the eighth lifted the Curve to a 4-2 win and fifth straight victory over Akron at Peoples Natural Gas Field Friday night.
