Rock Entertainment Sports Network Doubles Coverage with More than 80 Ohio High School and College Football Games this Fall

CLEVELAND – Rock Entertainment Sports Network (RESN, Rock Sports) announced its fall football schedule, which includes more than 80 Ohio high school football and college football games and a first-of-its-kind statewide high school scoreboard show, Friday Night Huddle.
The high school football season presented by Sheely’s Furniture, Appliance and Mattress kicks off tonight at 7:00 PM EST with the Avon Eagles, defending state champion, taking on the powerhouse, St. Ignatius Wildcats – the first of three Thursday night matchups this season. Rock Sports will feature live broadcasts every Friday night as part of its Friday Game of the Week, starting with the matchup between Pickerington North and St. Edward High School. Immediately following the game, Rock Sports will air, Friday Night Huddle, a first-of-its-kind statewide high school football scores and highlights show, hosted by six-time Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Dave Bacon and 11-time Ohio state champion Chuck Kyle. The coverage rounds out with the network’s Saturday Football Frenzy, a day full of football matchups that carries into Sunday.
“We’re thrilled to be able to double our local high school and college football coverage on Rock Sports this year,” said Michael Conley, Rock Entertainment Sports Network President. “Our mission has always been to bring communities closer to the teams and traditions they care about most. By expanding the number of Ohio games we’ll showcase—and enhancing the production with new wraparound programming and fresh on-air talent—we’re raising the bar for how local sports are covered and celebrated.
Rock Sports’ fall football coverage will be led by John Michael, the television voice of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Tim Alcorn, the Cavaliers’ radio voice and Cleveland 19 WOIO broadcast personalities Mark Schwab and Leah Doherty. Color commentary will be rounded out with a roster of Ohio football legends, including Ohio state champion Chucky Kyle and NFL veterans Bernie Kosar, Zoltan Mesko and Matt Wilhelm.
“We are so excited for this new opportunity,” said Jessica Smith, Sheely’s Furniture, Appliance and Mattress Principal Owner. “We have a longstanding partnership with our local coverage in the Youngstown market for high school sports and are excited to bring the same spirit to fans across Ohio with Rock Entertainment Sports Network.”
The network’s expanded coverage is made possible through partnerships with leading universities, high schools, local stations and production companies across Ohio. This includes John Carroll University, Ashland University, Benedictine High School, St Edward High School, Saint Ignatius High School, Hudson Community TV, Western Reserve Cable Television Consortium, Wadsworth Community TV, The Chagrin Valley Conference, 1480 WHBC Radio in Canton, S&S Productions, NEO Productions, Classic Teleproductions and more.
