Monsters Sign Forward Owen Griffin to Amateur Tryout Contract
2025 Blue Jackets draft pick posted 25-42-67 in 66 OHL appearances for Oshawa this season

CLEVELAND – The AHL’s Cleveland Monsters, top affiliate of the NHL’s Columbus Blue Jackets, announced Thursday that the Monsters signed forward Owen Griffin to an amateur tryout (ATO) contract. In 66 appearances for the OHL’s Oshawa Generals this season, Griffin posted 25-42-67 with 54 penalty minutes.
A 5’11”, 170 lb. right-shooting native of Markham, ON, Griffin, 18, was selected by Columbus in the fifth round (160th overall) of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft. In 189 career OHL appearances for Oshawa spanning parts of three seasons from 2023-26, Griffin registered 48-76-124 with 100 penalty minutes.
